The second path on CHERRY LANE, does have many overgrown plants higher up, so must duck to avoid them. Dwreham council own the allotments next to it, as well as another way to Dereham windmill. This path dies continue to go over the A47 on a bridge, but ends with extra soil piled up to stop cyclist from using it, near Caravan sales and Breckland Council office.

141177Photo #141177Add a cycleway along the A1066 to improve cycling and walking access to Knettishall Heath, which is a nexus for walkers (Peddars Way, Icknield Way, Angles Way), more direct access to National Cycle Route 30, and this extensive green space.Cycleway:

135474Photo #135474Close the Nuns' Bridges to traffic. The road here is really narrow with no pavement, making it unsafe for pedestrians, and there are regular collisions between the sides of the ancient bridges and large vehicles. Widening wouldn't be suitable, so closing and rerouting seems like a sensible option.Temporary closure:

134266Photo #134266The pavements on White Hart Street and Bridge Street are extremely narrow - they are already very difficult to navigate with a push chair or moblity scooter of any kind. Why not either widen them or close more of this area to traffic altogether? Kings Street is already pedestrianised, so perhaps there is scope for extending this area?Track:

134252Photo #134252Add a bike path along the Brandon Road to encourage people who live in this part of town to cycle to the town centre. It's lovely to walk or cycle along the river as far as Canterbury Way, but ify ou want to get to the houses beyond this, towards the A11, there is only a narrow pavement, and the road is busy with heavy lorries, so it's currently not appealing to cycle there.Cycleway:

134236Photo #134236It would be great to have a bike path down the whole to Croxton Road (including Old Croxton Road). It would make it much safer to link the Thetford Academy and the town centre. There's currenly a small amount of bike path near the railway line and leisure centre, so it seems this could easily be extended.Cycleway:

117134Photo #117134Joe Blunt's Lane is an ancient path through a belt of trees, which is quite narrow in places, with an uneven surface. To prove more capacity as a key traffic-free cycling and walking route, the parallel hard-surfaced path to the skate-park should be extended along the full length of the lane.Cycleway:
